We are Bob and Sharon. We met more than twenty-five years ago working for Bill Hambrecht. We have been together eleven years and married for four. We love food, wine, cooking, football and most of all we love our road trips. We try to take one every year, lasting from ten days to two weeks or longer if schedules permit.
One Christmas we drove from our home in Novato to visit Bob’s family in Boise ID then drove down to Sedona AZ and home via Las Vegas. Four years ago, we eloped in Carson City and drove to Tulsa OK, my family’s roots, for the PGA Championship via Ely NV, Boulder UT, Durango CO (our dog, Sierra’s, sixth birthday celebration was at the Alamosa CO McDonald’s with her annual plain hamburger) and Taos NM and then back home via Pueblo CO (my first Dirty Martini), Crested Butte CO, Gardnerville/Minden NV… 4000 miles in two weeks. Another year we drove through Yellowstone, toured Mt. Rushmore, Custer’s Last Stand, the Tetons, Rocky Mountain National Park and spent a few days in Breckenridge, CO. We have walked the Zion river gorge, seen Bryce Canyon, driven through Escalante a few times and approached Lake Powell from all directions. Last year we camped in Glacier National Park, drove through the plains of Montana and Wyoming, fell upon Stone Cottage Cellars’ pinot and chardonnay vineyards in the foothills between Aspen and Telluride and discovered Bluff UT (Cottonwood Steakhouse!). We bring good wine, double-fifteen dominoes, books on tape and minds open to new discoveries and re-visiting old favorites as we explore this gorgeous country.

Inspiring and corny! Good to know you both and share your travels.
